On December 5th, 2025, streaming giant Netflix announced it will be acquiring the streaming and studio divisions of Warner Brothers. This acquisition will give ownership of Warner Brothers' extensive content library to Netflix, which also includes Warner Bros. Games. Now popular video game properties such as Harry Potter, Injustice: Gods Among Us, and of course Mortal Kombat will have new ownership under the streaming service.
While not complete just yet, as the deal still needs government approval, it's certainly looking like this will be a reality for the Mortal Kombat franchise and Netherrealm Studios.
Not sure what this means for MK. I just hope it's positive. Definitely not sure how I feel about it.

I don't think it's final just yet. Still has to get government approval first, but it's looking like that is what's going to happen.
Not sure how I feel about Netflix owning MK. WB had already wokafied it enough with its gender/race swaps and ugly females. Now we're probably gonna get black Liu Kang.
