Mortal Kombat 2 Movie Releasing A Little Sooner

After learning the sequel to 2021's Mortal Kombat movie was being pushed back from October 2025 to May 2026, fans were rightfully a little upset.

Now according to Superherohype.com, the movie will be arriving in theaters one week sooner than planned.

Now, the sequel has been bumped up by a week, meaning Mortal Kombat II will arrive on May 8, 2026. The move makes sense and allows the movie to have some more breathing room before Lucasfilm’s The Mandalorian and Grogu arrives on May 22.

While not a huge bump, it makes sense not to go head-to-head with a new Star Wars film.
