Mortal Kombat 1
Well, this is interesting. The
Official Mortal Kombat Youtube page has just posted a new trailer for
Mortal Kombat 1 featuring
Dave Bautista.
While not much gameplay is shown, the commercial harkens back to early 90s promotions with average, everyday folks shouting
"MORTAL KOMBAT!!!"
15 days man.... definitely taking a day or two off.

I'm definitely taking off the 14th and 15th.
Anyone notice that Shang Tsung has some sort of syringes on his gauntlet? I wonder if he's gonna be more of an alchemist/scientist instead of a sorcerer in this reality. I'm really digging that. I'm assuming he's the one that developed the tarkat plague based on what we saw in previous trailers with Mileena strapped to the table in his lab.

That'll be really cool if that's the case!!
Kind of Scarecrow vibes which could be really cool for Shang Tsung.

I literally just saw a picture of Bautista from the 90's a few days ago before this trailer, he had long hair and a golds gym shirt on. Anyone notice the kid with red hair kneeling down looking into the screen just like the original commercial?

Looks like that is the case. He's not a sorcerer in MK1. Here's an article with NetherRealm Studios Story & Voice-Over Director Dominic Cianciolo:
Mortal Kombat 1: Story & Voice-Over Director Dominic Cianciolo on MK1's Big Reboot
Look at Shang Tsung. He starts out the game in a very different way. With Shang Tsung and some other characters, Liu Kang could have just gotten rid of these folks when he remade the universe. But he's not going to try and just get rid of them. He's got to figure out a way to make it work. So his solution for Shang Tsung was to make him not a sorcerer. But we see that the fundamentals of who Shang Tsang is, he's not that different. He's still a schemer. He's still trying to make things work out for him.
