NetherRealm Studios has released a new trailer revealing Geras will be returning as a main roster fighter in Mortal Kombat 1.Now appearing as an ally to Liu Kang, Geras warns the fire god that bending destiny to achieve peace may have unintended consequences.
Also revealed in the trailer is a classic Sektor kameo fighter, as well as fatalities for both Liu Kang and Geras.

From what I'm getting from that trailer is that Liu Kang has gotten a bit of an ego with his new powers and might've overlooked a few details that allow a new villain to rise.
