Along with today's first Kombat Kast for Mortal Kombat 1, a new Lin Kuei focused gameplay trailer was released.In the trailer we are treated to new gameplay footage of playable kombatants Scorpion, Smoke, Johnny Cage, Kung Lao, and Rain, along with Kameo fighters Cyrax, Sektor, and Frost.

Really happy to see Smoke return.
The way Scorpion interacted with Smoke has me wondering if in this game Scorpion is Kuai Liang and Sub-Zero is Bi Han?

There was a major leak a few weeks ago and after this trailer, I am a firm believer that it is 100% true.
The leak stated that Shang Tsung is the advisor to Onaga and is planning on reviving the Dragon King's Undead Army. Shang Tsung is from another timeline that is trying to merge with Liu's timeline.
In the trailer, Scorpion is fighting undead soldiers that look like the ones in Deadly Alliance and Deception.
Also in the leak, Sindel is the Queen of Outworld and Shao Kahn is now a general in her army.

They both look good but I don't know I'd rather Smoke with more of a face mask and more purple in Rain.

I like Smoke having a gas mask, but I wish it looked a little more like...well a gas mask, with a canister on both sides. I also wish he had more smoke effect around him.
I love, love that Rain is now more of a mage type character with a staff. Gives him more mystical/magical lore that he had to study and learn his powers. Now he's not just some dude with water powers.
That's one thing MK has never really delved into too deeply. How these characters have the abilities that they do.
