UPDATE: It appears this may have been false. Ed Boon responded to this latest news on Twitter with a simple "Nope." He wasn't specific about what exactly may be false, but I'm betting it's safe to assume all of it is.
Christopher Lambert, who played Raiden in the first Mortal Kombat film back in 1995, is in talks with New Line Cinema to reprise his role for the franchise's next installment.
In a short interview with loaded.co.uk, the actor reveals a few small details about the film's new direction.
Lambert also revealed why he didn't return for the 1997 sequel, Mortal Kombat Annihilation.
