E3 2014 is now over. So much was revealed about NetherRealm Studios' next game Mortal Kombat X. Here's a list of things we learned along with links to interviews with the developers during the convention.What we learned:
- New characters D'Vorah, Ferra/Torr, Kotal Kahn, and Cassie Cage revealed
- There will be several new gameplay features and characters
- Each character will have three fighting style variations to choose from
- Fighting stage interactions mainly for maneuvering, but there will some projectiles
- New character D'Vorah is half human and half insect
- New character Cassie Cage is the daughter of Johnny Cage and Sonya Blade
- The game's story will span from sometime after MK(2011) to roughly 25 years into the future
- New fighting stages Snow Forest, The Cove, and Outworld Marketplace
- X-Ray moves returning
- The X-Ray meter has been refined
- Stamina meter to manage running and stage interactions use
- The main antagonist will be a fun, surprise returning character
- Five slots for finishing moves in game's moves list
- Frame data will be in game's moves list
- Boon confirmed during Gamespot demo that there will be another "ality" but didn't get specific
- Character models can be sliced from any angle, creating more fatality possibilities
- PS4 and Xbox One versions being developed by NRS, PS3 and Xbox 360 versions being ported by separate developer
- Some features will not be possible on last-gen consoles
- Game to be released sometime in 2015
- New online mode described as 'persistent meta game' that everyone will participate in
- No Konquest mode in this game
- Story mode will explain which Sub-Zero is in the game
- 'Decent chance' for guest characters to be in game
