Variety news website Nerd Reactor had a chance to sit down with Mortal Kombat Legacy director Kevin Tancharoen to discuss his current project and the future of the Legacy series. Surprisingly, he was very open about meeting with Warner Bros. soon to discuss a possible season 3.
While the original article from Nerd Reactor is from March 27th, it is still dangerously close to April Fool's Day. This could be a prank. It could be genuine. Hopefully, we'll get a confirmation from Tancharoen or Warner Bros. soon.
*sigh* As much as I hate to admit this....do NOT do a season three. Do a movie with the same gritty attitude but with a story that actually makes sense. Season one got a pass. Season two was an embarrassment. It was like a ten yr old's fan fiction version. The only part of the story they stayed true to (barely) was the Scorpion/Sub Zero fight, minus the fatality thing. I prefer the 1995 Mortal Kombat and MK: Conquest tv show over that.
I personally prefer a movie, they owe us a movie...
That would be nice...though as long as it isn't based on Legacy, I think a season 3 would work for that. If they do a movie it should have its own continuity (and preferably for once stop with the whole "ninjas=evil, Scorpion: Evil Sub-Zero: Good, & Sub-Zero: Evil Scorpion: Good" shit).
And I was in the belief that K-Tanch's Bye meant bye bye to Legacy! That was definitely the impression he left. I sure hope it wasn't an April Fool's prank. Whether you like Legacy or not, that would just not be cool.

Whether you like Legacy or not, that would just not be cool. That's all very true - I don't think it was an April Fool's prank though, the date is not right for that. Still I have my suspicion on, especially seeing how Kevin said in the interview that he is relying on Ed Boon in this field.
