According to
Wall Street Journal website
Market Watch,
Warner Bros. has announced that
Mortal Kombat (2011) will be releasing on the
Playstation Vita sometime in early spring. Unfortunately, no official release date has been given, yet.
According to
Mortal Kombat co-creator
Ed Boon, the game will have both original content not seen in the original, as well as new features designed specifically for
Sony's new handheld device. Hmmm, maybe touch driven X-Ray attacks?
Ed Boon
The NetherRealm team is committed to making sure that we follow up the success of 2011's Mortal Kombat with an equally compelling experience on the PlayStation Vita. The original game content and new features we developed for the PlayStation Vita will provide gamers with the best fighting game experience available on the new mobile platform.
At this time,
FDMK is still waiting for the official press release from
WB. I will update this news story once it's received.
