mk2011.jpgGamespot is reporting that Mortal Kombat (2011), released only in April, is already set to hit three million sales worldwide very soon. According to Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment president Martin Tremblay, the success of the game has already covered the cost of acquiring Midway back in 2009 for $49 million.

Martin Tremblay
With the launch of Mortal Kombat, we have already paid for the acquisition of the Midway assets, and we are just beginning to leverage this acquisition with much more to come

Much more to come, you say? I don't know about you, but that's got me excited! I can't wait to see where WB and NetherRealm Studios takes Mortal Kombat next!
