Mortal Kombat: Legacy director Kevin Tancharoen posted a teaser image on his official Twitter account of another Lin Kuei assassin in cyborg form. While it appears to be Smoke, actor Shane Warren Jones who is portraying the role of Cyrax, also confirmed he is playing the role of Hydro, as well.

MG: Did you do any research on your character Cyrax/Hydro before working on the series?
SWJ: Yes, I did. Luckily I already knew quite a bit of Cyrax?s background story from his introduction in MK3 but it was nice to dive back into the history and get a refresher as well as see how the character evolved since I had stopped playing the game all those years ago. It was like visiting an old friend?a very, very, violent, old friend. Playing Hyrdo was a bit tougher because he?s a character that only exists in the comic book mythology. So there wasn?t much info on him.

For those who are not familiar with Hydro, he was a member Lin Kuei who had power over water, and only appeared in the Mortal Kombat series of comic books by Malibu Comics back in the '90s.



While this could be Smoke, since Hydro was killed before being automated in the comics, the Mortal Kombat: Legacy series has taken many liberties in its interpretation of the MK storylines. This could be Hyrdo in cyborg form. Also, Smoke is not listed as a character in the series according to IMDB.

Cyrax and Sektor: Part 1 is slated to premier at this year's Comic-Con in San Diego on July 21st.
