mk2011.jpgAs promised, MKCommunityManager has posted a new video today revealing some interesting facts about the Pit arena and how it came to be.
"Those unfortunate enough to invoke Shang Tsung's ire, find themselves forced to compete at the Pit. A bridge suspended high above a sea of razor-sharp, demon steel blades, it is the most treacherous of all fighting arenas on the island. Though its original construction was without blades, Shang Tsung grew agitated at the number of survivors and commanded they be added to better ensure fatalities. He then positioned a camouflaged Reptile at the bottom of the Pit to finish any who survived the fall. The carnage below is eventually consumed by the many subterranean creatures that dwell beneath the grounds of the palace. An unceremonious end to the unworthy."

"Palace", not "pass".
I like this preview! Those are some nice screams. I bet they are the new voices of characters in the new MK.
I wander if a Reptile replacement at the bottom, like pit stage, great addition.

Would be cool if Noob Saibot or Ermac was at the botton as a replacement for Reptile.
Did anyone else notice that all the featured characters in the new video have already been officially revealed in MK9, except for Sonya and Baraka?

The reason I find this interesting is because during the first MKast there was a concept art picture of Sonya (vs. Scorpion) from MK9. Now, they once again featured Sonya (vs. Scorpion) from MK1 and Sonya (vs. Nightwolf) from MK3. I'm guessing they featured Baraka (vs. Mileena) from MK2 for a good reason. Maybe these little details are clues.

It's just kind of "suspicious" that all the characters that were on the video have already been revealed in MK9, except for Sonya (whom they've teased with before) and Baraka (fighting none other than his old lady Mileena). Maybe Sonya or both of these characters will be the next fighters to be officially revealed, maybe not. Sonya's been confirmed for ages, who knows.

Now, I think it is definitely interesting to add into my post. As many have noticed, the characters sounds/audio from the classic games are not the same as they were in the originals. Why is this? I wonder why they would go through all the trouble of changing the death screams (and hit sounds) of the characters from the classic games for this new video. It could be a clue or indication regarding the HD MK Classic Collection game, however it can simply be that these screams and sounds are actually from the MK2011 game. It's possible that they simply decided to use some of the new audio from MK9 in this video to spice it up and keep us interested. The music is definitely from the new game, it is likely.

Any Thoughts?
i think the stage bios are a really good idea
I'd like to see a stage bio for the Deadpool (Acid pool, etc).

Heard Baraka was in the Shadows trailer and Sonya in MKast vid so pretty sure confirmation soon. Hope music is nice, don't know about in MK9, audio voice maybe just for Pit bio and other upcoming ones.
Like to see the other bio's if they have them.

Yes this can be true. I love how they put this game together. I love the music and I can't wait to see Sonya and Baraka in MK9. The audio is I think all from MK9.
2 word helllll yeah
Don't know how anyone could survive the Pit.
Don't know how anyone could survive the Pit.

Yeah, even just hitting the bottom ground without the spikes is already lethal. But then again, others are just so strong to survive such a fall. I bet victims who get impaled would get eaten (even alive) by the invisible Reptile. Reptile - Tongue

I guess it's just one of those few occasions where someone would survive it, perhaps. If you look at the first Pit from MK1, had it not been for the spikes, people (very few people) would survive.

True. So true. Reptile is not just any ninja. He's a maneating REPTILE! If he sees anyone down the pit with him, he'd devour them dead or alive. Jade - Giggle

Wouldn't it be cool as a bonus that once someone gets knocked into the pit and got impaled, some type of oni demon or some Outworld creature starts eating the victim whether he/she is dead or alive?

Exactly what I had in mind!
Sounded like he just needed Reptile instead of blades because it's not like they would get up and walk away.

Like blades, maybe a new addition to the bottom flooring, piranahs?
