OMG!!! Mortal Kombat 9 looks amazing! The fighting looks so fluid, and the game's atmosphere looks so dark and intense. The internal damage feature is also very cool looking! There also seems to be a assist feature as well, where a kombatant can summon another fighter to help during a match.

The action also looks like it will take place on a 2D plane with 3D graphics, similar to Street Fighter 4.

I'm not quite sure when exactly this game takes place. There are several fighting arenas from Mortal Kombat II and characters from the first three games. Considering the title of the game so far is simply "Mortal Kombat", I would have to guess it's a remake of the first three games put together.

While no full fatalities are shown, you can see Kung Lao setting up for a fatality he had in Shaolin Monks where he spins his hat on the ground and pulls his opponent by the legs towards it, cutting them in half. No doubt it will be a truly gory scene to behold.
