MTV.com has posted a news article in regards to recent news that the sale of the Mortal Kombat franchise is indeed a possibility in Midway's re-organization plan. However, Midway spokesperson Geoff Mogilner has gone on record stating that this is not something the company intends to do."It's not our goal to sell Mortal Kombat. It is something that, in the world of scenarios, it is something that could happen here. But it's not something that we as a company are going for."
Mogilner also mentioned that the MK Team is hard at work on the next Mortal Kombat game.
"The MK team is hard at work designing a new engine. We keep working."

Well obviously they don't want to sell it as its there best franchise easily, I mean midway without MK would be like bread wihtout butter... it just wouldn't be the same

Gotta say that I really wouldn't want this happening, but if someone does buy the MK franchise hopefully it's someone who is going to give the fans what they want, I'm really hoping that Midway holds onto this and if they do they better listen to the fans from now on.
