mksm.jpgSome members of MortalKombatOnline have discovered a method for unlocking a hidden Survival mode. The nine levels allow players to battle multiple enemies and/or bosses simultaneously.

To access Survival Mode, you must be in the Foundry and have the large Axe weapon. First, go into the room with lava that is available in the beginning by breaking the wood door down, jump into the lava and back out. Next, go to room to the right of the save statue, smash the barrel at the end of hall (using the O button ONLY). Then, go up the ramp and to the left where there are two barrels and smash ONLY the barrel on the right. Next, go to the area with the Nitara-type weapon and smash ONLY the barrel on the right. Go to the area with the "smashers" and smash that barrel. Next, go back to the Nitara weapon and smash the barrel on the left, and go back to the other area where there were two barrels and smash the one on the left. Be sure you use the O button only. Finally, stay there and press and hold the O button down to smash the ground. If you do this correctly, you will see green green energy rise from the ground. Enter the new portal and press R2 and you will begin Survival Mode.

Level 1: Baraka, Nomads, Masked Guards
Level 2: Demons, Handlers, Archers, Generals, Captains
Level 3: Oni and Warlords
Level 4: Reptile and Bloody Skeletons
Level 5: Inferno Scorpion and Orochi Hellbeasts
Level 6: Clay Soldiers and Brothers of the Shadow
Level 7: Kano and Black Dragon Mercenaries
Level 8: Goro and Kintaro
Level 9: Reptile, Ermac, Scorpion, and Sub Zero

Now it appears that this mode may have not been finished, and not intended to be found, due to the unusual method needed to find it. Also, rumor has it that this mode freezes up the Xbox version on level 4. I think it's safe to assume that this mode may be the infamous "Boss Rush Mode" mentioned in one of the clues given when you die in the game.

i could only get to level nine i keep dieing
You are getting to the last level then. If I could ever get my xbox to work, and could get passed Shao Kahn, and get the all the secrets, I could probably beat Survival Mode with Kung Lao.

Rumor has it the the game freezes the Xbox on level four.

When I unlocked Survival mode on my Xbox, it froze on level 3
I can't get passed level nine either.
Well, obviously the mode wasn't finished, so it's probably really glitchy.
Any diffrent news accept this, something more about this "Survival Mode" ??????
I'm going to try and unlcok this tomorrow. Can someone tell me if that once it's played does it stay like that the next time you load the game?

Hmmm, that's a good question. I'm going to assume no. You probably have to do the trick each time. Anyone else know?
I beat survival mode.you have to use a codebreaker for infinite life.

Fuzz,

I opened the portal, then saved the game. I then went to play survival mode and beat all 9 levels in 2 hours, 20 minutes. I then went to the main menu and back to the save I created. You were right, you still have to do the trick each time.

When I was asking about it, I totally forgot that the 'axe' will always respawn in that room, so I was afraid I would have to do the foundry from scratch each time.

Good news is that once in the foundry, the trick just takes about 2 minutes tops to open the portal. Now I can't wait to beat it with the other 3 characters.

is this bad?
Defeating the 9th level is difficult, because it has 4 ninjas. But to let you know, this battle happens at the arena, where are the statues of the 1st MK game characters.

Look at this video of someone beating the four opponents, and see what special you may find useful

True.

But as a hint, if you looked at the Statues at that arena/area, smashing them gives you medium health restoring souls/balls, making the fightning to be bit more easier and long lasting, giving you more time to beat the ninjas.
