I was in my local EB Games, yesterday, and much to my suprise, Mortal Kombat: Armagedddon is now only $19.99 for the Playstation 2. Curious as to whether or not this was just a local promotion, I decided to check online. Both EB Games and Gamestop are now offering the game for $19.99 online, as well. The game was not labled as Greatest Hits, so it's a mystery as to why the its price has been slashed. Is it not selling according to retailer's and Midway's expectations? Whatever the reason, if you haven't bought Armageddon yet, now's your chance to get it at a very reasonable price.

As of this news post, Armageddon for the Xbox is still retailing for $39.99.

EDIT (01/05/2007): Turns out this was just a holiday sale. The PS2 version is now back to $39.99 on both retailers' websites.

KOMMENTS
Well, I've said this before and I'll say it again. My mom got me a book from GameStop, and it said they would be droping prices on stuff after Christmas. Which would mean the droped prices are from an after Chrstmas sell, they had tons of games and consoles with droped prices, I even saw a PS3 for $500 so that may answer it.
yeah I've said this before too :)
Pshh, looking back on it.

I wouldn't have bought it for 10 dollars,
but too late now...

Damn, dude that is kind of harsh. You hated it that much? I didn't think it was THAT bad. Each to their own though, I definitely think it could have been better.

Also I just noticed, no price drop for the Xbox version? First they didn't make the Kollector's Edition for us, then they quit making games for the Xbox, and then they can't drop the price for the Xbox version? Lame Microsoft, lame ass. Darrius - Thumbs Down Another way to make a buck on a "dead" system....
Well if you guys noticed the price is back to normal. Also in the book I got it said most of the sells would be from 12/26/06 through 1/2/07. And yeah I have no clue why they didn't drop the price for the Xbox version, that didn't make sense to me, knowing their the same game just on another console. Hotaru - Whatever

Would you have paid $40 for MK:A, knowing that it sucked?

I still wouldn't have bought it for $10

And the answer to the console problem would be to buy a current-gen console, because even the Cube and the PS2 will be going out soon.
First of all, Mortal Kombat: Armageddon does not suck. It may feel unfinished, but it dosn't suck.

As for the price, I looked both EBgames and Gamestop up, and they are still offering it for $39.99. Was that some kinda limited time special offer?
