Taven
Taven made his first appearance in Mortal Kombat: Armageddon. As the game's hero, he was featured as the main character in Konquest mode. He is the half-god son of Argus and Delia, and brother of Daegon. He is a half-god and can control fire.

In Armageddon, Taven and Daegon are unknowingly entered into a kontest created by Argus in an attempt to save the realms from total destruction. They are sent to Earthrealm and kept in hibernation, until their dragon protectors, Caro and Orin, receive the signal from Blaze to awaken them. Freed from hibernation, they must both embark on a quest to locate and defeat Blaze. The victor would earn the right to succeed Argus as protector of Edenia, thus becoming a full god.

When Taven is released from hibernation by Orin, he soon finds out that Daegon was prematurely awakened centuries ago. Caro reveals to Taven that Daegon has become corrupted and killed their parents. Caro also tells Taven that his brother has formed the Red Dragon clan in an attempt to locate Blaze, as well as kill his own brother in order to ensure his victory.

Eventually, Taven meets up with Daegon at some ancient ruins in Edenia. The two brothers fight, with Taven emerging victorious. Taven then battles his way to the top of the Pyramid of Argus where Blaze is waiting. He defeats Blaze and vows to use his new god-like powers to find a way to prevent Armageddon.

Game Endings
Taven finally completed the quest by slaying Blaze with the sword I left for him in my temple. As intended, the godlike energy passed through him, transforming him into a full god. The surge of power then passed through the armor given to him by his mother and was dispersed into every kombatants within the crater. The result was intended to strip them of their special powers, but Blaze had been corrupted long ago by the Dragon King's holy men. Instead of nullifying the kombatant's power, it made them stronger than before! The quest was a failure! May the Elder Gods forgive me!
