Ruby is a member of a group Red Ninjas from the Mortal Kombat cartoon Defenders of the Realm. She receives orders from Shao Kahn to kidnap Jax and bring him to Outworld. By using her charm and the aid of Ermac, she manages to lure Jax onto her boat, but she is tormented by doubts about her mission. She eventually releases Jax and apparently falls in love with him.
