Introduced in Mortal Kombat 1, the Umgadi is a faction of warrior priestesses sworn to protect Outworld's royal family.

Li Mei was the previous leader of the Umgadi, but she resigned her post after King Jerrod was murdered on her watch. It is now led by Tanya.
