A lethal place of kombat used in Shao Kahn's Outworld tournament. The Dead Pool was a place for punishment and sacrifice. Captives would be bound with chains, then lowered into the acid below. A warrior could easily slip into the surrounding pool, effectively ending the kontest and the warrior's life very quickly. At the end of a fight, the victorious warrior could finish his opponent by hitting them into the acid, leaving only a skeleton floating in the green liquid. Bizarrely enough, it was not uncommon for the victim to utter a few words as they floated away.
