Mortal Kombat Mythologies: Sub-Zero
In August of 1997, Midway released its first of two dismal attempts at a Mortal Kombat adventure game. Mythologies followed the story of Sub-Zero, and his quest to stop the sorceror Quan Chi from freeing a fallen elder god named Shinnok (who later became the final boss in Mortal Kombat 4/Gold).

Although the game had a rather interesting notion and storyline, it was not well received by both critics and gamers. The graphics, although fluid in their own right, were considered dated, and it also had sluggish gameplay, inadequate for a platform game.
