Gamespot has just released a new vignette for the Raiden. In the video, we finally get to see the thunder god in action, along with a glimpse of what the elder gods look like, as well as some backstory on how the Mortal Kombat tournament came to be. The video wraps up with Raiden performing a fatality by severing Baraka's arms and legs and then smashing his torso head-first into the ground.Discuss ››

If you look closely at 0:51, you can clearly see Sheeva on the bad side! Now we gotta see Kabal, Kintaro, Quan Chi and Smoke and then I'll be very happy but I have the feeling we gonna be seeing Kabal and Sheeva gameplay next.

By the way Raiden's X-Ray looks awesome and so does his fatality and I can see that Baraka got his spinning blades move again like in MK2!

It's probably early footage before they implemented the character specific skeletal models into gameplay.....This will almost definitely be fixed for the game.

Raiden is my favorite character, and overall, I'm Impressed.
His intro, was partially what I expected. I expected him to teleport down from the heavens. But the lightning blasts, are just....
His gameplay looks like classic Raiden, and I wish his teleport was MK1-2 style. He needs to incorporate his staff into his gameplay. Thankfully this is just a teaser of what he's capable of. When we see his combo video, I expect to see much better things.
His X-Ray reminds me of his Nan Chuan style from the 3D MK games alot, and that's a good thing. Although, it wouldn't hurt to see more of his abilities besides that teleport and lightning blast at the end.
Raiden's fatality, albeit more dismembering is actually brutal. Better than what I expected, and the head smash at the end is icing on the cake.
Baraka: Yay for Blade Spin.
Sheeva: It's certainly MK3 based, and I see that it connects to a loin cloth.
The Elder Gods: These looks are befitting gods of the highest stature, and are a glimpse of their mortal form, but they'll always look best in their purest form. The MK Dragon glowing in green energy. So there's only five now. In previous games, there were more.
Can't wait to see more or Raiden and Sheeva. Screw you Baraka. Good thing Kintaro didn't ruin this by showing up.
