The decisions to add mandatory assist fighters, radically alter many of fan-favorite characters, such as changing Cyrax and Sektor into females, along with a severe lack of content compared to other installments that came before it, left many long time fans of the franchise less than satisfied with Mortal Kombat 1.

While not complete just yet, as the deal still needs government approval, it's certainly looking like this will be a reality for the Mortal Kombat franchise and Netherrealm Studios.
Not sure what this means for MK. I just hope it's positive. Definitely not sure how I feel about it.

After learning the sequel to 2021's Mortal Kombat movie was being pushed back from October 2025 to May 2026, fans were rightfully a little upset. More▼
Now according to Superherohype.com, the movie will be arriving in theaters one week sooner than planned.
While not a huge bump, it makes sense not to go head-to-head with a new Star Wars film.

DC K.O. refers to a future DC Comics event scheduled for 2025-2026 that involves a fighting tournament between members of the Justice League Unlimited. Homelander from The Boys franchise will also be in it, and I for one hope he learns the hard way his power is laughable compared to Superman!
I’ll be keeping an eye out for Sub-Zero’s issue in February for sure!
